Friends of Baxter State Park submitted comments to the Land Use Planning Commission (LUPC) on the Wolfden Mount Chase rezoning application. Comments focused on 1) concerns that the application does not meet the standards consistent with LUPC’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan and statute and 2) that the rezoning application, by decoupling mining from processing, circumvents the full review needed to determine the impacts to the land, waters, and communities. Understanding the full extent of impacts calls for the entire operation to be examined as a whole.
