Please join us on Wednesday, May 14 from 7:00 – 8:00pm for a workshop on how to use iNaturalist to gather citizen science data in Baxter State Park. iNaturalist is a platform that allows anyone to track and share their nature observations. Citizen science data gathered through iNaturalist can support biodiversity research, monitor the effects of climate change, detect new invasive species, and much more.
iNaturalist is easy to use and lots of fun! There's even an online community of experts who can help with tricky identifications. Come learn how to use the website and app to make nature observations while you're exploring in Baxter State Park this summer - or even in your own backyard.
Our presenter for this workshop will be Georgia Murray, Senior Scientist for the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). Georgia has worked as a staff scientist for AMC since 2000, with expertise in air and water quality, phenology, alpine communities, climate impact on montane systems, and citizen science.
