Volunteer in Baxter State Park

Volunteering is a great way to support Baxter State Park, meet new friends, and enjoy working in a spectacular setting! The Park welcomes volunteers who can accomplish a variety of helpful tasks, including litter patrol, trail maintenance, wildlife studies, painting buildings, and more. There are opportunities for all ages, interests, and abilities.

Baxter State Park requires individuals, families, and groups wishing to volunteer to submit an application in advance. This helps Park staff understand who to expect, what their capabilities and interests are, and plan appropriately. All prospective volunteers need to complete the online BSP volunteer application form for 2019. Georgia Manzo is the contact person for volunteers at Baxter State Park and can be reached at (207) 723-9500 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Please check the Baxter State Park volunteer page for current opportunities and updates.

In the past, we have offered a chain saw safety course for those who would like to volunteer as a chainsaw sawyer in Baxter State Park, as sawyers must become certified by a course recognized by the Park. We hope to continue to provide this two-day training course as needed based on interest. FBSP may offer full and partial scholarships to cover the cost of this training. The next courses will be posted here when they become available. Due to COVID-19, we have no plans to provide this course in 2021.
