Volunteer in Baxter State Park

Volunteering is a great way to support Baxter State Park, meet new friends, and enjoy working in a spectacular setting! The Park welcomes volunteers who can accomplish a variety of helpful tasks, including litter patrol, trail maintenance, wildlife studies, painting buildings, and more. There are opportunities for all ages, interests and abilities.

Baxter State Park requires individuals, families, and groups wishing to volunteer to submit an application in advance. This helps Park staff understand who to expect, what their capabilities and interests are, and plan appropriately. All prospective volunteers need to complete the online BSP volunteer application form for 2018. Georgia Manzo is the contact person for volunteers at Baxter State Park, and can be reached at (207) 723-9500 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Please check the Baxter State Park volunteer page for current opportunities and updates.

If you would like to volunteer as a chainsaw sawyer in Baxter State Park, you must become certified by a course recognized by the Park. FBSP organized a two-day training course with Trail Services LLC in June 2014, and we will offer another course as soon as we have six people interested in participating. FBSP offers full and partial scholarships to cover the cost of this training.
