[May 7, 2021]
Due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic, Friends will be offering a modified version of the Baxter Youth Conservation Corps in summer 2021. Our BYCC Conservation Fellows program offers youth from the Katahdin region the opportunity to pursue paid leadership and conservation work during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are now accepting applications for eight full-time positions for this summer, with an application deadline of May 28, 2021.
Fellowships will be offered to those with exemplary leadership skills, motivation, and career interests in the outdoor recreation, conservation, or environmental fields. Because of the degree of independence required, Conservation Fellows must be incoming seniors or recent graduates (2020 or 2021) of Stearns, Schenck, Katahdin, or Southern Aroostook high schools, or Mattanawcook Academy. Fellows will be full-time employees of Friends of Baxter State Park from July 6 through August 13, 2021.
Please visit our BYCC program page for more information on the Conservation Fellows program and the link to the online application.
