Why:
Friends of Baxter State Park relies on membership donations to fund the advocacy, coordinate volunteers, create informative publications and conduct the many programs and initiatives we have. FBSP staff works to secure grants from government and private agencies to help the Park conduct studies and do special projects they otherwise might not be able to do within their own budget. FBSP is largely a volunteer organization and therefore has very little administrative overhead. Therefore a large portion of your membership dues will go directly to the costs of these activities, which are of great value and benefit to the Park.
As a member you will receive our quarterly newsletter Forever Wild, an annual “State of the Park” report, updates on our activities, and alerts about important issues and actions needed. All members will receive a thank you packet and membership card. Large donors (over $100.00) will receive a special thank you gift of artwork or photography. Some establishments in the Baxter State Park region have offered discounts to FBSP members so remember to ask about that if you are eating out, lodging, or shopping. FBSP is a 501C organization therefore your donation is tax deductible.
